A guide on how to win with 130lbs of added weight.. or at least one way of doing it. For Version 1.0.

Prerequisites

In order to have a realistic chance of getting the achievement, you have to earn a lot of money, unlock at least the second area (Savage Street), a bunch of perks and weapons.

I won’t go into detail on how to unlock them, but just play the game and you will earn these eventually.

Weight Training

Strictly speaking the only thing you need is to go to the Weight Training area, enable ALL the difficulty modifiers (you picked everything when the total weight is up at 130lbs), enter an arena on normal mode and survive.

Just some of the modifiers:

  • more enemies
  • you have 1 hp
  • the walls of the arena hurt you
  • you get random weapons
  • you can only use 1 weapon at a time
  • you cannot move while shooting
  • you get random perks
  • there are 2 bosses at the end

So.. how to do this?

Weapon Override

Here you can select a starting weapon, thus eliminating a random factor.

I had a lot of runs trying out what could work and initially the Blaster seemed to be the best option, you can get far into the run, but it is very Perk-dependent. Managed to get to the bosses a couple of times, but simply lacked the firepower to beat them or the overwhelming number of enemies.

In my opinion the best weapon is the Quad Launcher.

It fires multiple rockets that target the enemies, it does aoe damage and 1-shots most enemies. The only short-term disadvantage is that you start the run 60k in debt, which means for the first couple of lvl ups you will get the Credit Line perk. On the other hand.. you will get the Credit line perk! You will probably get better and more expensive perks later, thus extending your time until the bosses arrive to get even more lvls.

Compendium

Here you can disable some of the perks for the run. This is essential since you can increase your chances of getting the perks you actually want. You can pick and choose whatever you want, but I suggest these:

Perks to enable:

  • Continuing Education (passive XP)
  • any Perk that gives you health (Meditation, Regeneration, Reinvigorated)
  • Spreadshot
  • Dog
  • Bullet Heaven

Perks to disable:

  • any Perk you can disable that gives you money (ROI, Sponsors)
  • Airmail
  • Wide Barrel
  • Hedgehog
  • Discerning Customer
  • Sharpshooter
  • Blade Runner
  • Hard Landing
  • Snowstorm
  • Flash Bang
  • Missile Pack
  • Parting Gift

Now the preparations are complete, enter an arena and begin the run! (I recommend the BloodDome because you have more space to move around)

Strategy in the Arena

Perks

Since the Perks you get are completely random, these will have a huge impact on how long you’ll survive. You definitely need a lot of luck to win, so just keep trying and you’ll get there!

Gather XP as much as possible until you get a Perk that restores hp. After that, your priority is getting to full health to have a safety net in case something happens. The best possibility is Meditation since you are stationary while shooting.

Other than this, you can just hope to get upgrades faster than the enemy numbers increasing. Some perks are basically useless at the beginning, like Medkit and Kevlar, but don’t worry if you get them instead of weapon upgrades, because they will come in handy later.

You can always check your current Perks in the menu.

Movement

At the very beginning you want to move near the center area to get as many kills / XP as you can.

Later as the faster and stronger opponents arrive, I recommend moving near a side wall (be careful not to touch them, they deal damage to you!) to limit the directions from where they can attack you.

The corners give the most protection, but keep in mind that you must keep gathering XP. If you get completely stuck in place, it is game over.

Another thing to consider is the occasional weapon drone that comes. You have to avoid it at all costs! It gives you a random weapon and since you can only hold 1, it will replace your starting one.
Most likely it will be a massive downgrade and the end of the run.

Also take into account that the Collector perk picks up weapons from further away!

I suggest moving to one side of the arena for the weapon drops, and for the later phases + boss fight to the opposite side.

Boss fight

Hopefully you’ll get to the last phase with full health, some Kevlar protection, and a weapon that can easily clear your surrounding area from enemies.

The 2 bosses come down at the same. I’m not sure, but I think it could be the same twice, or two different, any from the 3 arena bosses.

It is entirely situation-dependent on how you can handle them, but if you have the option, try focusing down one at a time, while keeping a healthy distance from them. And don’t forget the boss explosions when they are destroyed!

There are probably other viable strategies, but this is how I managed to conquer this challenge. Hope this helped, and good luck!
