For Playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, one of the most frustrating experiences can be the time-consuming shader compilation process that occurs every time you launch the game. Fear not, we have crafted a comprehensive guide to help you bypass this step, allowing you to dive straight into the action without any delays.

To skip the Shader Compilation.

1. – You must run Stalker 2 and Complete the shader compilation and load into game before you do this. If you have interrupted the Shader Compilation (by crashing or quiting out of aplication during the compilation) you must redo it.

2. – Exit application and quit to desktop.

3. – Go to Steam
C:\Users\[WINDOWS USERNAME]\AppData\Local\Stalker2\Saved\Config\Windows
Or
Game Pass “xbox app”
C:\Users\[WINDOWS USERNAME]\AppData\Local\Stalker2\Saved\Config\WinGDK

4. – If you don’t already have one make Engine.ini file “just make a .txt and rename it”

5. – add this line to the file.

[SystemSettings]
r.PSOWarmup.WarmupMaterials=0

Save and exit.

6. – Done the game should skip the Shader Compilation now as it should.

Note – If the game updates or you change hardware/update drivers you will need to redo the shader compilation just set r.PSOWarmup.WarmupMaterials=1 compile and back to 0.

Had this same problem with several UE5 games lately devs should fix it soon.
