Welcome to this quick guide to Eika, the shotgun-wielding pyromaniac who specializes in securing kills and pressuring enemies with her unique abilities.

Introduction

Eika is a Duelist in the Scissors faction, meaning she can only be used as an attacker. She specializes in securing kills and pressuring enemies hit by her Ability, and being a general menace with her Ultimate and ramp up passive. In this guide, i will be explaining some of her abilities and providing my personal advice for playing her

Wildfire

The Wildfire is Eika’s shotgun, carrying a drum mag with 17 rounds. Without upgrades, It does really good damage up close, Falling off at mid-rang and becoming generally useless at longer ranges. Most of the time you’ll be doing around 30-55~ damage to the body, and around 45-65~ damage to the head per shot at close range, falling off more the farther away you go.

John
Skill:Puragtory
Eika summons a spherical Flame Cage. Enemies passing through its walls take 30 Burn DMG. The skill ends early if no enemies are inside. While Eika is within, her primary weapon deals extra Burn DMG to enemies inside. Consuming 100 Heat increases cage wall DMG to 60
If someone is inside of the cage, it is normally very easy to kill them due to increased damage and the risk imposed by them leaving the cage. Use this to your advantage to pick off isolated enemies
Passive:Sol Battery
Each shot on an enemy accumulates Heat, up to 100 points. At max Heat, damage against stringified enemies increases. This buff refreshes the more you do damage. Her other skills can consume Heat for boosts.
This buff can be decently useful against enemies who really like to spam their stringify, but other than that it is mainly used to buff other abilitys, so dont be afraid to spend it. Downed enemies can be shot to increase heat or extend Sol Battery so use that to your advantege. Sadly the Ninjato cannot gain any heat.
Ultimate:Firestorm
Summons up to 3 Firestorms per round, force gliding and dealing 5~ Burn DMG per tick to enemies in range. Consuming 100 Heat increases Firestorm size, Burn DMG to 10~, and highlights enemies.
This ultimates is REALLY good at picking off softened enemies when at max heat, and of the don’t die to it, the highlight makes it hard for them to try and run. Try your best to make the lt use heat, as without it its just an ok-damaging windstorm grenade

Upgrades

Blue (Square) Skills [150 Credits Each]

CORE

  • Increase Bullets : Pretty Niche, but can be used if you’re constantly getting into the face of enemies.
  • Single-Shot Mode : Most of the time this is the upgrade you should be taking. You no longer have to be right in an enemies face to be able to hit them with your shotgun

CRITICAL HIT

  • Effective Range : Really good for single shot, lets you not lose as much damage at range. Do not take this when running Increase Bullets, its upgrade is negligible.
  • Stringified Damage : Should only really be taken if you are either A: running increase bullets, or B: plan on taking advantage of people trying to stringify in your purgatory. You already have Sol Battery, no real need for this.

AMMO

  • Magazine Capacity : Honestly this is up to you, both are dependent on how often you want to reload
  • Reload Speed : Once again, up to you, although I personally like taking this due to how often I reload

    Functions

  • Sprint Speed : 90% Just take this one, you want to be in the face of the enemy, and sprint helps with that.

Spread Control : You should very rarely take this, as most times you won’t notice it’s effect since you’ll be in peoples face. Maybe it could have use for some players but at least for me I see no reason to use it.

    Yellow(Circle) Skills [250 Credits Each]

    PURGATORY

  • Cooldown -5 : I like taking this one, just lets you use the skill a bit more often, nothing too crazy
  • Duration +3 : Lets you trap someone for longer, Really nice if you’re taking the Encouraging Cage awakening or just wanna deny someone from moving a bit longer

    SOL BATTERY

  • Damage to Heat Conversion +50% : Lets you get Sol battery stacks way faster, making it a very important upgrade to grab.
Green (Triangle) Skills [250 Credits Each]

    ARMOR

  • Light Regen : Armor is definitely also based on the player, but in my personal opinion regen armor is good if you’re popping in and out of fights, although Heavy feels better overall for reasons ill list below
  • Heavy : Heavy armor lets you take way more hits than regen armor in one engagement, and when paired with the Flame Of Life awakening, it becomes really annoying to kill you if you’re smart with you’re engagements

    SURVIVABILITY

  • Stringified Movement SPD +15% : Ngl I don’t see a point in taking this for any character, i normally just default to taking less damage when stringified
  • Stringified DMG Reduction +25% : Tank more hits when stringified. Simple and effective

Awakenings

Awakening 1 : Pyro Strings [1x Blue, 1x Green]

Enemies stringified within the Flame Cage take Burn DMG. Simple Enough, discourages people from stringifying in your purgatory, crazy useful for guaranteeing kills

Awakening 2 : Encroaching Cage [1x Blue, 1x Yellow, 2x Green]

After casting her active skill, the cage radius shrinks inward every second until reaching the minimum size. Forces characters to either move or take damage, there are even situations where they could be stuck and have to take unavoidable damage if you play your cards right. Very useful for enemies in groups too

Awakening 3 : Flame of Life [1x Blue, 2x Yellow, 1x Green]

Eika restores a proportion of HP based on the Heat consumed. HP also gradually restores as Heat naturally decreases over time. This supports extremely offensive game play, and luckily that’s what Eika specializes in. As Long as you’re cashing out your heat often and dealing damage, you have a steady source of healing.

Conclusion

As you can see, Eika is a character who specializes in quickly dispatching enemies while making it harder for them to fight back, and can either be a great team player or a stupidly annoying flanker. Most other things like upgrade order and stuff is based both on personal preference and how the match is going, so don’t be afraid to experiment with her tools. In the right hands, She can become a force to be reckoned with, burning all enemies in her path. If you have any opinions about anything I said, or just tips in general, feel free to say them in the comments.
